After 23 years of operations, at the twilight of yesterday 17 April, at the Naval Military Arsenal of La Spezia, the Navy hailed the team patrol Bersagliere (F584) with the ceremony of the last ammaina bandiera.

Before the ceremony the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral Valter Girardelli, met the mayor of La Spezia, Pierluigi Peracchini, in the presence of the North Maritime Commander, Admiral Giorgio Lazio.

The ceremony was attended by civil and military authorities who wanted to pay tribute to the long course of Nave Bersagliere which, as the Navy Chief of Staff reminds, has joined the naval team at the end of the year 1995. During his speech, Admiral Girardelli said: "The patrolers of the Soldati class have filled a solution of capacitance continuity carrying out all the activities of presence and surveillance at the same level of the units of the Lupo class, ensuring a valuable support to the line of the frigates". He continued: " Today's Bersagliere has taken part in various national and NATO operational missions of presence and surveillance in the Mediterranean, in the Arabian Gulf and in the Gulf of Aqaba. The activity between the 1996 and the 1997 is of utmost importance during which, together with Nave Durand de la Penne, the world circumnavigated over forty-six thousand miles, stopping in 35 ports and touching 23 nations".
