"Buon Vento": the 30 ° Naval Group greets the Borsini patrol boat in Mozambique

"You are about to write an important page in the history of our Navy, our country and Mozambique".

With these words, the Commander of the 30th Naval Group, Division Admiral Paolo Treu, on the morning of January 31, 2014, greeted the crew of the patrol vessel in the port of Maputo (Mozambique) Borsini that, after having provided its own praiseworthy contribution to the Campaign "Country system in motion", Leaves the 30 Naval Group to operate independently in a support and cooperation activity with the local Marina for the next 2 months.

Following the signature of the technical agreement between the Navy of Mozambique and Italy by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Squad Admiral Giuseppe De Giorgi, the crew of the Borsini ship will transfer their knowledge and experience to the young and undersized African Navy, which needs to expand its capabilities in order to increase safety in the maritime areas of interest to protect the growing commercial traffic and new and important economic resources.

The contribution provided by the ship Commander Borsini, since its departure from the port of Augusta on 12 November last, was fundamental for the achievement of the multiple objectives of the Naval Campaign, including support for the navies of the countries visited, cooperation and building trust crucial aspects for global security and building a better world. This unit, by type of use, size and sustainability, aroused considerable interest in all the ports visited, representing an important element of attraction for the 30th Naval Group.

The aircraft carrier Cavour, the team supplyer Etna and the Frigate Bergamini they head to Cape Town, South Africa. They parade offboard to the Borsini Patrol and do not miss the opportunity to give a last and affectionate greeting to the small-large ship, expedition companion for over half of the Campaign.
