Lifesaving flight for a baby in imminent danger

A Falcon 900 of the Italian Air Force has just landed at Linate airport, coming from Cagliari, carrying a child of less than two months in imminent danger of life and in need of urgent care at the Policlinico di San Donato Milanese.

The mission, at the request of the prefecture of Cagliari, was coordinated by the room top situations of the air force command team of the Italian Air Force which ordered the take-off of one of the crews in readiness H24 for this kind of needs.

At the Cagliari airport, the small patient was boarded with a thermal cradle on board the aircraft of the 31 ° Stormo and monitored and assisted until he arrived in Milan, for subsequent transportation by land to the Policlinico.

The aircraft is at this moment already returning to Ciampino, to resume the ready-to-use service.

Crews and transport aircraft of the Italian Air Force are ready day and night to ensure, where required and deemed necessary for urgent reasons, the medical transport of people in imminent danger of life. Thousands are flown every year by the 31 ° Stormo aircraft of Ciampino, by the 14 ° Stormo of Pratica di Mare and by the 46 ª Pisa Air Brigade, always on the front line in case of emergency.
