Friday 2 November Admiral James Foggo, commander of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples and coordinator of the NATO exercise Trident Juncture 2018, in place in Norway from 25 October to November 7, visited the Bodo air base, where most of the aerial component of the exercise operates.
Admiral Foggo, during a press conference during the "media day" organized by NATO, illustrated the characteristics of the exercise, underlining the great value of this type of multinational training events, which allow the team of Allies to train at act together for a common defense.
The admiral then greeted the commanders of the deployments of the participating nations, inquiring about the exercise of the exercise.
Meeting with Colonel Daniele Porelli, leader of the Air Force contingent, the commander of JFC Naples expressed his gratitude to Italy for its contribution to the exercise, also underlining the importance of the role of the air assets made available to the Air Force at the Bodo air base.

The Aeronautica Militare contributes to the exercise, deploying in the bases of Bodo and Oygarden, a number of assets with highly specialized and valuable skills for the development of COMAO (Combined Air Operations, composite air operations).
They range from the Eurofighters of the 36th and 37th Wing, able to carry out Air Defense operations and escort to protect strategic coalition aircraft, to the Tornadoes of the 6th Wing, in the IDS (Interdiction-Strike) and ECR (Electronic Combat) versions Reconnaissance), used for the suppression of enemy air defenses.
