An AB-212 helicopter of the 80 ° Combat SAR Center (Search And Rescue) of Decimomannu (Ca), of the 15 ° Wing of the Air Force, today rescued three people isolated from the snow, falling profusely these days in the Sardinian province of 'Ogliastra.

Following the activation by the Poggio Renatico (FE) Air Operations Command, the helicopter took off from the Decimomannu air base in the early afternoon, carrying a team from the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps.

Rescue operations were particularly difficult due to the marginal weather conditions and the considerable snow layer.

Once they reached the intervention area, the crew recovered the three men who were in particularly inaccessible areas. Once the recoveries were completed, the helicopter headed for the Urzulei sports field where the rescue operations landed.

At the end of the operations, the helicopter returned to the Decimomannu base.

The activity carried out today is also part of the broader defense system that is working in close coordination with the Civil Protection throughout the country to deal with the snow emergency that is affecting the whole of Italy.
