On Wednesday 30 August, at the SAR hangar of the Trapani Birgi air base, the ceremony to hand over the command of the 82nd was held Combat Search and Rescue Center (C / SAR).
All the civil and military authorities of the province of Trapani and the staff in force in the department took part in the event, chaired by Colonel Tomaso Invrea, commander of the 15th Wing of Cervia on which the Center depends.
In the farewell speech, the outgoing commander, ten. with the. Daniele G., thanked the staff for the constant guaranteed support, giving him credit for the important results achieved and wished his successor, Major. Boris P., to live with passion the prestigious and delicate post just assumed.
The incoming commander, former head of operations of the 82nd Center, expressed his personal gratitude to col. Invrea for the trust and honor granted to him and thanked his predecessor for having left him a compact flying group always ready to give his best.
The 82 ° Center is one of the departments of the 15 ° Wing of the Italian Air Force that guarantees 24 hours on 24, for 365 days a year, the search and rescue of flight crews in difficulty, also contributing to activities of public utility such as the search for missing persons at sea or in the mountains, emergency medical transport of the sick in danger of life and the rescue of serious traumatized persons. From its constitution to the present, the crews of the 15 ° Stormo have saved about 7200 people in danger of life.
