On Wednesday 11 September, in the presence of the Brigadier General Vincenzo Nuzzo, commander of the Institute of Military Aeronautical Sciences of Florence, and of the highest civil, religious and military authorities of the Florentine city, the handover ceremony took place between Colonel Prisco Antonio Monaco, outgoing commander of the Military School "Giulio Douhet" and Colonel Davide Rosellini.
During the ceremony the col. Monaco in his greeting, after thanking all his collaborators, addressed the young students directly: "As commander I had the privilege of following your growth phase, of grasping the emotions, concerns and ambitions of each of you. I am proud of you, proud of your fairness and preparation: I wish you to be able to make your own dreams, continue to work hard and keep up the name of the Douhet School, whatever future the destiny will reserve for you ".
In his first speech the new commander immediately wanted to address a thought to the students: "Dear children, I have deep respect and esteem for you because at such a young age you have already shown that you are able to make mature and conscious choices. Take the opportunities that the School offers you and consider the sacrifices you are called to make as the best tool for enrichment and growth. ".
Finally, General Nuzzo took the floor to point out the great work done by Colonel Monaco, urging the incoming commander to maintain the level of excellence achieved by the School.
