On Wednesday 12 February, the annual course on familiarization with mountain survival techniques was completed at the Marshal School of the Air Force / Viterbo Airport Command. .

Also this year the course was divided into two sessions - the first from the 3 to the 5 February, the other from the 10 to the February 12 - to which the students of the 16 ° normal course participated, divided into groups.

Each session was developed with a recovery activity using a helicopter winch, an aviosbar and a field exercise with night bivouac.

The activities were carried out with the support of assets and personnel from the Pozzuoli Academy and the 15th Wing of Cervia, for the recovery operations and subsequent air-landing through an HH3F helicopter from the 85th SAR (Search and Rescue) center of Pratica di Mare (RM) and an HH-139 from the 83rd SAR Group of Cervia. The professionalism and commitment of the personnel employed proved once again to be decisive for the success of the operations.

"We are now at the third familiarization course" - said Colonel Eugenio Rovazzani, commander of the School of Marshals AM / Comando Aeroporto - "and every time I see the enthusiasm of the visitors for this activity that puts them in contact with a dynamic and extremely operational: the course, although carried out according to a streamlined program and with extremely contained costs, represents an added value in the training growth of the students and lays the first bases for the development of a deep operative conscience in the future Marshals of the Air Force ".
