Baracca "di Centocelle (RM), took place, in the presence of the chief of staff of the Air Force, general of the aerial team Enzo Vecciarelli, the ceremony of rotation between the general of division Massimo Berti and the general of division Giorgio Baldacci, in the general office of the Role of Weapons, and between General Berti himself and Brigadier General Francesco Cannillo, who took over as commander of the Rome Air Force Command (COMAER).
Numerous military and civil authorities took part in the ceremony as well as a large representation of the staff of the Role, of the ComAer and of the dependent Bodies. To give greater luster and solemnity to the event the Labari of the Combatantistic and Weapon Associations, the banners of the Lazio Region and the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, the latter decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valor, as well as the t.col . Gianfranco Paglia, also decorated with a gold medal for military valor.
In his greeting, General Berti, after thanking all those present, gave an affectionate greeting to his colleagues in the course Kite 3 ° with whom 44 years ago began its own personal "adventure" in armed force: "Today I come to the end of my professional journey started wearing the 13 Maggio of the 1969 with the entrance into the Military School of Nunziatella and continued with the entry into the Academy of 18 October of the 1972. Over 47 years, of which 44 in our FA, to which I wish to express my deepest and deepest gratitude and gratitude for the wonderful experiences that allowed me to make, making me grow professionally and humanly. "
General Berti then thanked all the staff of COMAER and the Employee Bodies for the transparency, professionalism and self-denial with which he operated under his command: "Thank you all for what you did and how you did it!".
Taking stock of the activities carried out, he focused on the recent relocation of the General Secretariat of Defense on the grounds of Centocelle and in part on Palazzo Aeronautica, which took place without impact on the general users of the two offices, thanks also to the positive synergy developed with RAMDIFE, and to the General Carlo Magrassi himself, Secretary General of Defense, who has often personally committed himself to the achievement of this priority objective. Finally, the outgoing commander of COMAER emphasized the recent decree of the Minister of Defense which assigns to the Rome Air Force Command the task of providing technical, organizational and logistical support to the General Secretariat of Defense in the two headquarters of Centocelle and Palazzo AM, identifying this as one of the future challenges of the Organization.
In the role of general of the Role of Weapons, General Berti wanted to entrust a message to the officers of the Role: "Be commanders, base your activity on the correctness, consistency and dignity of the Role you play in our organization, inspiring you to how many, with dedication and spirit of sacrifice have served the Air Force. Always try to propose yourself, to make yourself professionally ready to carry out command activities at every hierarchical level ".
General Cannillo, after having thanked all the participants and having addressed a respectful greeting to the gold medals present, in remembering the mission of the Rome Air Force Command to guarantee, also through the Employee Bodies, the operational effectiveness of the Inter-agency and armed forces located in the areas of Palazzo Aeronautica and the AeroportI of Centocelle and Vigna di Valle, he pointed out, addressing the Chief of Staff, how his commitment, as commander of the COMAER, will be oriented towards making the team entrusted to him ever more cohesive, increasingly at the service of the inter-force community and the country system. In addition, addressing the present interforce forces, he said: "to the prestigious interforce component, here represented authoritatively, I guarantee continuity and impulse to that action of generous logistical support to ensure the full expression of your operations".
The gen. Baldacci, after having also thanked all those present and meant the singular importance that the presence of the two "blue ribbons" gives to the ceremony today, after having retraced his long career, expressed his satisfaction for having reached the top of the Role . He cited the famous apologue of Menenio Agrippa in order to understand the breadth of the intervention and the decisive importance that today covers the Role of the Weapons and which, even more, will cover the 4.0 Air Force: "it is not therefore a question of defining in a drastic or dynastic way those who are senate or people, stomach or arms but, first of all, recognizing the precious role played by each one, in contributing and collaborating in the life and health of the body to which one belongs".
The Chief of Staff, in his speech, retraced the history of the Role from the 90 years onwards in the framework of the reorganization of the Armed force: "We are part of a learning organization, we like to learn from the lessons learned during our operations, take inspiration from our men's intelligence", Recalling the recent initiative of the" gym of thought "launched as a stimulus to all the personnel of the armed force. At the conclusion of his speech, General Vecciarelli warmly greeted General Berti for the 44 career years lent with dedication to the service of the country.
Il Rome Air Force Command (COMAER) was established on 1999 March XNUMX, a date that for the Air Force also marks the transition from a "territorial" to a "functional" structure. COMAER provides technical-logistical and administrative support to the FA bodies and to the joint forces located in the Palazzo Aeronautica area, the grounds of the Centocelle Airport including, recently, also the General Secretariat of Defense, and the Vigna di Valle Airport Command - Historical and Sports Center AM. It guarantees the territorial functions and liaison with the Authorities and Administrations present in the Capital area and performs the functions of Aeronautical Presidium required by the sector regulations.
With the Legislative Decree 30 December 1997 n. 490 the birth of the Role of Arms was sanctioned. The General of the Weapons Role in carrying out his duties is assisted by his own Office which, among the main tasks, studies and proposes measures in the sector of recruitment and employment profiles of the personnel of the Weapons List, to compete in defining the training process for the staff of the Role, to take care of and promote the publication and dissemination of studies, conferences and technical monographs of specific aeronautical interest.
