"A single, great Stormo at the service of the country", this is the slogan that accompanies the 2018 calendar of the Italian Air Force, presented yesterday at Palazzo Aeronautica in the presence of the Undersecretary of State for Defense, Hon. Domenico Rossi, of the Chief of Defense Staff, General Claudio Graziano, of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, general of the air squad Enzo Vecciarelli and numerous guests.
Twelve months for twelve stories of aeronautical life, each illustrated by four photographs highlighting the many souls, the many emotions and the many professions that represent the Air Force. A storyboard 48 photographs and short texts that describe everyday life in the bases, offices, operating rooms, airplanes, both in Italy and abroad. A calendar to read, not only to look at, where there are plenty of evocative images of airplanes but which focuses on the men and women who make up the family in blue uniform, citizens in uniform who work every day and every night at the service of Country.
"We wanted to give voice to those men and women who have made this courageous choice and who, day by day, contribute to enrich the heritage of values of a proud Italian Air Force to serve Italy with generosity and pride", These are the words pronounced by the gen. Vecciarelli, who in conclusion reiterated that the "sense of duty, the spirit of service, solidarity, generosity, loyalty and courage are the values that distinguish the military being, the being aviator, men and women ready to to give life for the common good of the country ".
In the twelve months of the calendar the activity that the Air Force carries out all year round is documented, 24 hours a day: from surveillance and defense of the airspace to emergency medical transport, from the commitment in the military operations abroad to the staff training in Italy.
