After fourteen years of activity in the service of the country for the surveillance and defense of the national airspace, the line Euro Fighter of the Italian Air Force reached the prestigious milestone of the 100.000 hours of flight as part of a training mission jointly carried out last 10 October by the assets of the three Hunting Departments EF-2000: the 4 ° Stormo of Grosseto, the 36 ° Stormo di Gioia del Colle and the 37 ° Stormo di Trapani.
To congratulate the three Stormo commanders, convened precisely on the airport grounds of Trapani Birgi to participate in the meeting of "Eurofighter Line Standardization", he was the commander of the Combat Forces and the 1ª Air Region of Milan, General of Air Division Silvano Frigerio , who stressed how such significant goals can only be achieved thanks to a high degree of synergy and a constant sharing of employment methods among the three operational realities daily committed to defending national airspace. A result achieved also thanks to the thousands of hours of maintenance carried out in these years and the excellent rate of efficiency constantly guaranteed by the airplanes of the line Euro Fighter.
The 4 ° Stormo, the 36 ° Stormo and the 37 ° Stormo depend on the Air Squadron Command and are the Air Force fighter wards that provide surveillance and defense of the National Airspace, through an operational readiness service, for 365 days a year, 7 days on 7, through a system of radar, aircraft and missile systems, integrated since the time of peace with those of other countries belonging to NATO.
