Scandal in the German armed forces, mirror of the country and its problems

As time goes on, the social and political crisis that is affecting Germany has begun to evolve into something very dangerous for the security and stability of the whole of Europe. One of the ghosts that disturb the sleep of political decision-makers, both Germans and Europeans in general, is that of the return to power of the right-wing extremist who, historically, had found fertile growth in Germany in the years 30 and 40 of the century last with the advent in power of the German National Socialist Workers' Party (NSDAP) led by Adolf Hitler.

In recent years, the German far-right has once again spoken of itself, and not only for the electoral successes obtained both locally and by the AfD party (alternative for Germany - Alternative for Germany), but also for a series of disturbing scandals concerning infiltration within the institution which, more than any other, should represent the bulwark of German democracy: the "Bundeswehr", the "Federal Armed Forces" ".

In truth, the Bundeswehr it is not new to such scandals; already during the Cold War, the military institution found itself under heavy scrutiny due to the discovery of clandestine networks linked to the world of the subversive left belonging to the "Revolutionary Cells" (Revolutionäre Zellen) or to the "Fraction of the Red Army" (Rote Armee Fraktion). Today, apparently, the danger comes from a different direction.

As anticipated by the German magazine "Focus" in November 2018 (v.link), at the end of an investigation lasting more than two years, the police and the German secret services are "apparently successful" (the conditional in this case is a must) to foil a neo-Nazi conspiracy within the armed forces that had its "epicenter" even within the "KSK Kommando Spezialkräfte" (the Command of the Special Forces). According to the police investigation, no less than 200 members of the KSK (the 18% of the entire unit!) Would be directly involved in a subversive plan called "Day X" which, anticipating a political-social collapse of the country system, it would envisage a sort of internal "showdown" during which the commandos would have to identify, seize and execute a list of "enemies of the people" on the public square, including: ex-president Joachim Gauck, the party leader " Die Linke ", Dietmar Bartsch, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, Bundestag vice-president, Claudia Roth (Green Party) and many other politicians, journalists and human rights activists. However, despite the arrest and confession of some "small fish", it is very likely that the authorities will be able to proceed against the "troop" because, alerted by a spy inside the MAD (Militärischer Abschirmdienst), the Military Counterintelligence Service, it seems that the commandos have succeeded in eliminating the most compromising evidence against them. It seems that the "neo-Nazi sympathizer" infiltrated in the MAD was then taken, but is not sure that, to date, he intends to collaborate.

The ability that the elements of the German extreme right have shown to infiltrate the elite military bodies and the secret services of the German state and the strabism shown to date by politics and public opinion, not only in Germany, but also in the whole of Europe in the correct assessment of a potentially fatal subversive plan for democracy does not support the "state of health" of the institutions and mass media of our continent.
