Iranian navy ships approach the US coast?

09/02/14

The AGI agency reports that two Iranian warships are approaching the US east coast for a training mission. It would be the destroyer 'Selaban' (frigate "Sabalan" ?, nda) and the helicopter carrier 'Khark' (supplier "Kharg" ?, nda).

The source would be the commander of the Iranian 'northern' fleet, Admiral Ashin Rezayee.

The exercise would be a response to the presence of US war units in the Persian Gulf.

In the past Iran had sent ships to the Gulf of Aden to fight piracy and recently in the Mediterranean near the Syrian coasts. He had never "trained" personnel in the Atlantic near the American coasts.
