KC-767A: the Aircraft Provider of the Italian Military Air Force

The KC-767A is the aerial pillar for a unique capacity of projection of the air component not only national but of all NATO.

Its flexible conformation allows it not only to carry out on-air and logistical passenger and / or cargo missions, but also to be able to operate in humanitarian emergency situations where it is able to evacuate personnel quickly in precarious health conditions is an essential requirement (MEDEVAC).

The aircraft was born from the Boeing 767 cell, widely widespread in the civilian sphere. The Italian version has some peculiarities, such as the three refilling points of the type probe and drogue and a rigid refueling point of the type boom. This uniqueness, unique in the industry, allows refueling to all types of existing aircraft, whether they hunt for airplanes. The computerization of the aircraft allows the entire aircraft to be operated by only three crew members, logistic transport missions, and four crew members in flight refueling missions.

Operations of air to air refueling (AAR, air-to-air supply) are performed by an operator through a fully automated station from which they are managed Receivers (fuel-receiving aircraft, nda), refueling plants, and fuel streams. The aircraft can be supplied by another aircraft Tanker thanks to the supply of a filling point on the back of the airplane, at the cockpit height, thereby increasing both the already large operational capabilities and the range of action.

In the cargo configuration, in the main deck, you can embark 19 military standard NATO pallets; In addition, 9 containers can be embarked on those normally used in civil aviation in the two lower decks (FWD and AFT).

In the passenger configuration you can board up to 200 passengers with their luggage.

In the combi configuration you can embark up to 100 passengers and 10 pallets standard NATO in the main deck.
