The Baglietto Navy, based in the city of La Spezia, has been awarded the contract for the supply to the Navy of two fast projection units.

These two new boats will be part of the budget of the new LHD TRIESTE (whose entry into service is scheduled for the 2022), currently under construction.

The Division Manager Navy della Baglietto, Diego Michele Deprati, does not hide the pride for the two orders, as the La Spezia company has a deep-rooted tradition in the construction of military boats that dates back to the beginning of its history, from the historic MAS of the two World Wars to the recent patrol boats under the Guardia di Finanza, and saw the shipyard produce boats for the largest marinas in the world. This result not only represents continuity with the past but also an important recognition for the great efforts that Baglietto, with the Navy Division, has dedicated to the military sector in recent years.

The two units will be made of composite materials (vinyl ester resin and aramid fiber), and equipped with an engine composed of two 800 Hp engines, which will allow the new boats to reach a maximum speed of 40 knots, while the cruising speed will be 35 nodes.

The cockpit can accommodate up to three crew members, while the passenger cabin, thanks to the use of removable seats, can accommodate 22 raiders.

The protection of the units will be increased with the addition of ballistic panels capable of arresting shots from 7,62 mm.

Regarding the armament on board, the installation of a Hitrole remote control turret with weapon from 12,7x99 will be provided.
