Between October and November, an important air exercise took place between the Greek and Israeli air forces. As written by the newspaper The Jerusalem Post, 11 F-16I fighter-bombers (photo) and an AEW / C aircraft (Airborne Early Warning and Control) G550 Gulfstream supplied to the IAF, have operated in a hostile electronic environment (Greece deploys surface-to-air missile batteries S-300), simulating bombing and air combat missions. Just the Gulfstream, with its transponder, was able to test the operation of the system of discovery and engagement of targets by the S-300, storing important information on how to deceive and blind the radar.

Obviously the delivery of the S-300PMU-2 by Moscow to Syria - from the sources should be 12 batteries - they would not be able to block a massive Israeli air strike. In addition to the capabilities offered by the new 5 fightera generation stealth F-35I (version specifically designed for the IAF), Israeli technicians have been able to test the capabilities of the Russian anti-aircraft system in Ukraine - which deploys the same version of the S-300 acquired from Syria -, where the Ukrainian military would have informed them about the characteristics of the weapon system. Moreover, the pilots of Tel Aviv, in these exercises, were able to deal with Russian-style air defenses, very similar to the Syrian ones.
