e-GEOS, a company formed by Telespazio (80%) and the Italian Space Agency (20%), a leader in the geo-information services sector, expands its presence in the Far East with the awarding of a bid in Indonesia and the renewal of a contract in Japan.

In Indonesia, e-GEOS won an international tender called by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) to support the operation of the SAR (Syntetic Radar Aperture) Ground Station installed at the Perançak Space Center.

Moreover, the company will guarantee, through the already installed reception terminal, the acquisition of radar images of the satellites of the Italian COSMO-SkyMed constellation.

With the support of e-GEOS, the Perançak space center will be enabled to send COSMO-SkyMed image acquisition orders, to receive satellite data directly, to generate value-added activities such as production and dissemination in near time. - Realized reports on the monitoring activities of suspicious vessels.

In Japan, e-GEOS has renewed for the third consecutive year, following an international tender, the agreement signed with JSI (Japan Space Imaging), which allows the Japanese company to provide its customers with satellite data generated by COSMO-SkyMed constellation. The collaboration between the two companies has already brought in January 2017 to the realization, in Japan, of a ground station (CUT: Commercial User Terminal) for the management of planning, acquisition and processing of satellite images.

The CEO of e-GEOS, Massimo Claudio Comparini, said: “The important results achieved in Indonesia and Japan testify to the success of the e-GEOS strategy to offer advanced Global Geo Information Centers that can exploit the unique performance terms of temporal and spatial resolution, of the COSMO-SkyMed satellite constellation. The Far East offers numerous opportunities in this area and represents an area of particular importance for e-GEOS and for the entire Leonardo Group, which with the 2018-2022 Business Plan aims at expanding its presence and commercial growth in the region ".
