Leonardo delivers Ship to Muharraq upgraded to the Royal Naval Force of Bahrain

During a ceremony in Mina Salman at the headquarters of the Royal Bahrain Navy, Leonardo handed over the modernized military ship to the Barenite Navy Al Muharraq. This is the second unit delivered under an agreement signed in 2015 with the Royal Naval Force of Bahrain, which provided for the upgrade of six ships. Also included in the supply is a new weapon control system, training and logistics services.

The first ship, called Al Manama, 2017 was delivered in December, two months in advance, demonstrating Leonardo's strong commitment to supporting the Royal Naval Force of Bahrain, as well as all customers in the country.

In Bahrain Leonardo has launched a series of successes, including the provision of advanced air traffic control radar systems to improve safety and efficiency in the management of national airspace.

Leonardo's offer ranges from key-in-hand combat management systems for maritime surveillance and naval ship security, from ammunition to underwater systems for all classes of military ships, from piloted and remote piloting systems to sensors for any type of naval mission. It also includes innovative naval training and maintenance services. Satellite systems and services for Earth observation and geo-location, for marine environmental monitoring and maritime safety are also added.

Bahrain, as well as other Gulf countries, can further benefit from Leonardo's expertise in the naval sector, where the company has collected significant experience in upgrading corvettes, offshore patrols and frigates. Also in terrestrial Leonardo offers completely integrated innovative solutions, defense systems and effective and competitive modernization programs.
