The Government of Canada has declared its intention to acquire an existing and proven NATO military ship design that can be readily modified to best meet the requirements of the Royal Canadian Navy. Naval Group and Fincantieri, the world's leading shipbuilders, with the strong support of the governments of France and Italy, will combine their skills by presenting the Canadian government with a "ready to use" and already well proven solution, based on the FREMM frigate project. , for the supply of 15 surface combat ships to the Royal Canadian Navy.
