Hundreds of Boeing employees gathered in Renton, Washington, celebrated the 10.000 737 out of the production line. With this aircraft, an 737 MAX 8 for Southwest Airlines, the 737 has obtained the title GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for the most commercial commercial aircraft.

"This incredible achievement is a testament to the work we do every day to build the most reliable and efficient single-aisle aircraft in the world", Commented the President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Kevin McAllister. "This event represents over 50 years of success and a conquest by hundreds of past and present Boeing employees, our supplier partners and our airline customers around the world who have placed their trust in the 737".

The 737 had already entered the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS in the 2006 for the 5.000 ° plane out of production at the Renton plant, the result of almost four decades of work. Given the growing market demand and high production rates, the 737 program reached 10.000 airplanes only 12 years later.

"The speed with which Boeing has achieved this new success is truly impressive”Said Michael Empric, official adjudicator for GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS. "We are excited for this umpteenth recognition of the 737 and for the important role that this aircraft plays in commercial aviation".

Boeing will increase the production of 737 from the current rate of 47 aircraft per month to 52 aircraft per month during this year. The 737 program has over 4.600 aircraft in order, powered by the sale of the latest 737 version, the 737 MAX.
