From a recent technical analysis by the lt. with the. (res.) Uri Ben Yaakov, senior researcher at the ICT (International Institute for Counter-Terrorism in Herzliya, Israel), behind Hamas' surprise attack on Israel, "there would be the Iranians".

Given that Hamas has failed in the past to cope with the military capabilities of the State of Israel and, with the clear knowledge that the Israeli home front constitutes a significant point of vulnerability, the organization has developed means of reaching the Israeli home front, including advanced missile launch capabilities and means to which Israeli technological capabilities could not easily respond, such as "incendiary balloons". However, in this attack, Hamas acted slightly differently and was able to penetrate the civilian home front by exploiting gaps in the military and intelligence front as well as operational ones, which highlights the importance Hamas places on achieving of the Israeli home front.

The resilience of the Israeli home front is a necessary tool in the hands of decision makers and the state's ability to operate over time against its enemies, whoever they may be. In its recent terrorist attack, Hamas demonstrated significantly advanced rocket launch capabilities, capabilities that go even beyond the Gaza envelope cities. However, the State of Israel has not yet managed to use all the means at its disposal to meet this challenge, as well as the new operational challenges that have emerged in cities near the Gaza Strip.

In an in-depth study conducted by the Herzliya ICT on how the civilian home front could be organized during a multi-front war, it was found that the State of Israel does not sufficiently utilize millions of Israeli citizens who, not recruited in an emergency, wish to volunteer and assist in the Campaign. These citizens can be a significant addition to the civilian home front response, increasing their resilience and providing assistance with such things as medical and mental health support, distribution of food, water and medicine to those in need, and an information transfer conduit bidirectional between the internal and civil fronts. authorities and citizens. These citizens, who naturally have some familiarity with the surrounding population, can serve as information management centers in specific locations that will be set up in advance for this purpose and which were missing so far.

It should be noted that beyond theimportance of real-time information transfer, which was fully revealed during the recent terrorist attack, the simple ability to obtain information in general and about relatives in particular increases the resilience of the home front and also that of the fighters on the front who care about their loved ones back home.
