Supernatural to 1200 km / h: the beginning of the decline of air transport? Will the military leaders change their strategies?

It is not science fiction but a reality that we can already observe. hyperloops, is a supersonic train able to touch the 1200Km / h. As we can see in the image, the company has already built the tube that will run in the Nevada desert: low pressure pipelines Devloop where supersonic trains will travel. The test track is long 500 meters with a diameter of about 3,3 meters and already this makes the idea of how it will be possible to travel in record time.

hyperloops was born from an idea of the millionaire Elon Musk who foresees the journey of some railway capsules inside tubes which, using magnetic levitation, reach up to 1200 km / h. For now the track in the Nevada desert guarantees only two seconds of travel but soon we could see the first tests on medium-long distances.

The Californian company has recently opened a plant in France to build a railway line between Bratislava and Prague that will ensure a connection between the two cities in less than ten minutes. Although for the moment the tests are taking place in the United States, the magnetic levitation train will also arrive in Europe thanks to the agreement signed between HTT and the governments of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Elon Musk is one of the main sponsors of this new technology which, with its projects and ideas, has led to beneficial economic competition between different companies, from Hyperloop One a Hyperloop TT until Arrival: companies that want to claim the supremacy of making a supersonic train.

The project is also considering transporting trains in tunnels dug under the ground to prevent them from creating a sound, environmental and visual impact on the territory and, above all, to prevent them from being vulnerable to attacks outside the plant's safety.

Meanwhile the Canadian company TransPod, long committed to carrying out the project SpaceX which concerns a revolutionary land transport through the transport services of hyperloops will open a branch in our country to create a magnetic levitation supertreno that can reach the 1200 km / h.

The Italian initiative belongs to the company Angelo Investments which, with an investment from 15 million, is now part of the capital of TransPod based in Bari where it will be joined also by the local Polytechnic with the difficult task of developing connection between Toronto and Montreal in less than 30 minutes. A project open that could involve the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies and the University of Pisa. The two institutes together with Ales Techa startup of Milan, they also participated in September at the Hyperloop Pod Competition, a competition announced by the founder of SpaceX, Elon Musk, with the aim of collecting new ideas for the development of the train of the future.

Ales Tech in fact, he presented a prototype of magnetic levitation suspensions, starting from the work done by the students of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies and the University of Pisa. The competition was also attended by other universities with projects to support the train of the future and its applications.

So while in Puglia a research group is committed to developing work with the Canadian company to make a connection between two METROPOLIS, Trenitalia who invested on Frecciarossa1000 divides Italy at two speeds, reducing connections - already slower from the south to the north - and thus leaving unsatisfied a large share of passengers who fall for economic reasons on scheduled buses which, at lower prices than the train, have now become the popular means of transport that in small spaces and with long hours of night travel has become the nightmare of poor commuters.

This new discovery can not but interest the military apparatus where the movement of people of vehicles and materials is one of the essential components in the projects and strategies of the major states of the FF.AA. Imagine how this properly tested system can interact with decisions to intervene by moving troops on the ground that do not need to be parachuted in some cases or will get to destination materials with limited time with a rapid integrated logistics. Who knows if one day we will see infantry departments projected in the place of operations with times shorter than the plane and naval units that, touching the various ports, will be supplied by the system hyperloops. Posterity will judge.
