The word to the readers: politics, geopolitics and defense of the 5 Stars seen by you!

(To David Rossi)

Before giving the floor to the readers on the theme of the Five Star policy and geopolitics, it is worth taking two steps back, in the years when many of us had their hair in the wind on their moped or watched the first Japanese cartoons on TV, in short, the period between the end of the seventies and the eighties. It is then that we see the noble father of the Grillini engaged in politics: the true founder of the 5 Stars Movement, in fact, it is not Giuseppe Piero Grillo (in art, Beppe Grillo), but Michel Gérard Joseph Colucci (aka Coluche), comedian comedian French who, at a time of severe economic and social crisis in France, announced his candidacy for the presidency of the République in the autumn of the 1980. Surprisingly, the most unlikely candidate in the space of a few months found himself at the head of the polls with 16% of voting intentions but, under circumstances that had never been investigated, he preferred to retire after six months, following the murder of a collaborator and, according to him, death threats to his person too. The two met in the 1985 on the set of the film Scemo di guerra (Sic), by Dino Risi, and remained in contact until the death of Coluche in a traffic accident with unclear outlines, about a year later. In the same period he began the political-environmental commitment of the Ligurian comedian, who in the space of ten years would take him away from his beloved television to devote himself to shows around Italy and Europe. Grillo would have perhaps limited himself to performances in theaters and squares, had it not been for the earthquake caused in the public opinion by the book The Caste, by Gian Antonio Stella and Sergio Rizzo, who in 2007, on the eve of the great review from the USA, with 1,2 million copies sold and the uncontrollable commitment of the authors in conferences and readings showed for the first time to the Italians the medieval privileges and the moral misery of the political class.

The "grillini" were the only reality born as a result of the revelations contained in it The Caste (girotondi, forconi etc.), to overcome the movementist phase and to become a political subject, first of opposition (2013-2018) and then of government. In short, an international scenario no longer from the cold war, a country reduced to the periphery of the West, the absence of nuclear weapons to be managed and an economic sovereignty limited by the European treaties allowed Grillo to do what he was prevented from doing in Coluche : move from mocking jester to institutional power.

The craving for "people like us" that followed the best seller by Stella and Rizzo allowed the Genoese comedian - and his friends from Casaleggio & Associati -, new Dr Frankenstein, to mold a ruling class "equal to us ", Who wants to talk about economics without having knowledge of it, who takes political positions as if they were football schemes, who approaches science through Internet searches as does the street man, who does not have a stable position among European and anti-Europeanismlimiting itself to pragmatic choices, which seeks visibility on new media rather than medium-long term political objectives. But who, for those over forty, remembers more than the political project of Coluche, the Christian Democracy of Ciriaco De Mita and the other hyperstalist exponents of politics of the seventies and eighties. After all, the period in which Beppe Grillo went as a comedian, a presenter and an actor. Those of us who have lived those years as a child, a boy or a young man feel a sense of nostalgia, which is perhaps the key to the success of this neo-demitic protest movement once it becomes a government force. The alliance between the "producing north" and the political and moral heirs of the "philosopher of Magna Grecia" of Nusco is at the same time the secret and challenge of the government of Giuseppe Conte.

That said, I'm going to leave the floor to the most interesting pieces of readers, starting with those more favorable to grillini.

Antonio sees very positive intentions:

I belong to the Forces of the Order and express my humble opinion, ignoring how we found ourselves after Monti and Gentiloni and focusing directly on political and social ethics.

I state that I voted for 5stelle and I'm happy with how it went so far.

The union of 5 Stars and League with many difficulties is churning out decrees with good adjustments due to the mediation between the parties, as we would say abroad "doing team".

The newspapers and TV have highlighted the many flaws of the individual, the executive gaffe, especially the 5 Stars, diminishing the impact of their measures, such as decrees dignity and sweep-corrupt and the maneuver of (for the people) . We know what effect they will have in the long run and my opinion is more than good ... I hope they last for 5 years and sweep away all the old and finally bring ethics between us (a word unknown to national politics).

Even Luca, an old acquaintance of this column, opens a certain credit:

Welcome to Italy!!!! The sunny beautiful country tourist and cultural destination, historical European root, bla bla bla…. Today in Italy six months later there is still a government that to some seems madness, to some even sacrilegious and blasphemous, "tremble" Salvini and Di Maio, mother them Turks !!!!! What do you think our SDMs have produced? And who knows? Who knows anything about it since in six months we have seen a havoc from a democratic and cultural point of view. The responsibles? Journalists, or rather the Italian Inquisition. Woe to speak ill of journalists: "heresy" !!!! Today I feel a heretic and maybe a lot of Italians are becoming one; how can you still believe the press? It is not possible that everything that our heroes do systematically is slandered and denigrated, put everything in a bad light and presented in an incorrect and equivocal way. Attacks that sometimes become even ridiculous; but shouldn't a journalist have ethics? Shouldn't it bring light where there is shadow? Shouldn't that really explain what's going on? Where are the journalists in these six months? Have they all become inquisitors? And in whose pay? Given that by following the media our SDMs seem to have made every conceivable mistake, it makes me think that they are on the right path; surely they are breaking the mold, I deduce this from the misinformation and the media rage. Other I don't know. I can only guess Moscovici's finally unhappy expression and wait for the inquisitors to return journalists to give light to a nation.

Mario, on the other hand, has gained a negative opinion:

I believe that the work of the 5 Stars in the Defense and Security sector is not different from that carried out in all the other sectors of the Public Administration: confusing and subjugated to ideas that arise from a deep ignorance in the matter. Fortunately, Minister Trenta is a serious and competent person and has constituted a valid barrier against the mass of his party partners who see in the armed forces only as an ATM from which to withdraw money when it comes to financing some of their projects or as a further guarantee of "fixed place" (as well as a modern Cerberus to cage and suffocate as much as possible). Net of the result obtained with the military union representatives, nothing has been done on the subject and indeed, it is planned to stop or slow down programs that the Defense has absolute need (one above all, the CAMM ER, if I remember or the evergreen F-35, whose renunciation of this point I hope they understood would be very, very damaging in economic and operational terms). The underlying problem is, once again, the lack of a culture of defense and security (together with that of Patria) that in the "movement" is more serious than elsewhere: as long as the followers of Casaleggio will not understand that we need to invest more (it would be better, between staff, exercise and investments) and not only to increase salaries and pensions, and that the armed forces in 2018 are still the main business card of a country that wants to have a thick international posture (not a car that eats money in vain), a path of change and evolution genuinely good and healthy will never come out of it. In conclusion, little has been done and for the moment it has been a good step, but I fear that the outlook is certainly far from rosy.

Andrea sees the 5 Stars still dominated by their founder:

You have done well to publish the photo of Grillo and not that of Di Maio, the "minimum" leader of the movement, or of Casaleggio. Because it is always Grillo the alpha and the omega, here. In fact, it is he who governs us, who screams, posting a post or making a joke coming out of a hotel in Rome. He brought us here, even if it seems that he did not know where we would arrive, listening to him and his "boys".

At the beginning of the trip he talked about his blog with the world's top thinkers, invited them to talk about the future. As they entered the electoral competition, these characters vanished. There was no dialogue, no opinion, but only articles downloaded from the web.

Why, this is evident, Mr. Grillo does not accept dialogue and does not hear opinions: he does what he wants, how and when he wants, and if it doesn't suit you, you leave, whether you are smart or not it makes no difference (see Pizzarotti but not only), with his ministers and parliamentarians forced to boast of being unprepared (the silent Trenta is the exception that confirms the rule), who now chirp "we didn't know that things were so bad, that the contracts stipulated were inseparable, that the agreements made were not syndicable ... ", and that is that in fact we are a nation under protection in many areas, and a lot of limited sovereignty. Yet, it is since July 43 that things have been like this, maybe it would be time for someone to find the courage to say it (hope more than vain, if placed in any Italian politician).

Grillo is clever. He went off when he sensed that he and his movement had said so many promises of nonsense, and that these would inevitably come to comb. But wrong, again, those who think that Salvini is a problem for him: it is not so, indeed the opposite is true. But this is another story, which we will perhaps see a little further.

Paulo is also very critical:

The current geopolitical scenario is so complex as to orient the leading countries to modify their strategic orientations and defense budgets in order to be prepared to face events that have not yet been defined.

Those who are called to make such decisions must have a long-term vision, be far-sighted and certainly not fear the unpopularity of the moment, aware that they are working to guarantee their country security and future. The actions and decisions of this government - traction 5 stars - go in the opposite direction, preferring to collect or maintain a certain popular consensus by squandering public money, through "donations" to a lost fund, but if one day Italy was called (hopefully not) to defend their interests and / or borders ... those same people who have enjoyed the "charities" of the 5 stars, they will ask ... why our. Armed Forces are unprepared, because they do not have the necessary means ... or worse, because the ns. guys die.

We should remind people who have the honor of holding such an important position, that in the Defense - EVERYTHING must be planned well in advance and if an unfortunate day events impose the urgent availability of new means for our. Armed Forces, they would realize the incalculable damage and suffering caused.

Italy certainly does not decide the rules of the "international" game, much less the 5 stars ... and the only thing we are allowed to do is prepare ourselves well to be able to play an active role in this scenario, in order to to preserve the interests and boundaries of our Country. It seems that this "detail" has not yet been understood, as well as the meaning of Homeland, Honor and Family. Judgment: Unable to read the geopolitical scenario and make the right decisions, insufficient experience, arrogant.

Sergio is another "patriarch" of this column:

The good old sinister, corrupted by decades of capitalism, sees her voters transform from incazzious idealists to circus tightrope walkers in balance between social themes, tritium and retreat, and appetizing revenue from cooperatives. Rare hard bones remain stubbornly clinging, while for those who precipitate the pentastellato network prevents them from slamming the face on planet Earth. In this, analyzing the 5stelle work soberly would lead to insanity. For self-preservation, I approached this time, with a delirious mind to the tunnel of the horrors of previous crises: Fascism focused on young people, public works, infrastructure, Defense, Thirteenth and pensions. And then it brought us to the ruin of war (but we're here ...). Nazism has excellently raised Germany prostrated by the defeat of the first conflict by focusing on Hitlerjunge, roads, public works, "Defense", research and industries. And then he led the German people to the same conflict and genocide (yet it now leads Europe ...). The "communism" of the Soviets has focused on work, youth, people, industries, "defense" and great works. And then, despite winning the war (with the money of others) has collapsed on itself leaving ex-slaves to survive as possible (but now Russia is getting back on its feet ...). The 5stelle (with the complicity of the League), despite captivating dialectic, struck the university and research; abandon young people to temporary employment (so much they are less and less); disincentive work and employment (income! I do not work); says NO to public works (only waste and corruption, it's true!); defends the Defense with significant cuts (not we are at war? And then who pays the bills?); puts his hand to pensions (patience, the elderly will be rebuilt with scratch cards, bingo ...); on security does everything to the League (who knows if they have read the part on the stakes?). In practice, with these assumptions, the law of the opposite we expect a great future without wars and violence (we hope only to survive the after .. .).

Let's leave the last word to Enrico:

I have a totally negative opinion on the work of this government Di Maio-Salvini: INCOMPETENCE, ARROGANCE, PRESUMPTION, PURE ELECTORIAL INTEREST. They will destroy every economic potential of the nation. For the first time in history, a government has agreed on all business and trade unions on a single front of total criticism and dissent over its work. 6 months of total nullity. If Salvini does not wake up he will sink with the pentastellata sect and their income of "fannullanza".

1Memorable in this sense was the attempt to join the liberal-democratic group in the European Parliament, starting from an alliance with the leaders of Brexit in the United Kingdom.
