Blockchain: near future or already far past?

The infinite applications of technology Blockchain they are conquering everyone, both in the civil and military world. Small and medium-sized companies, large and well-organized multinational companies, local administrations, state administrations and the Armed Forces world. In practice, the whole community is becoming aware of the infinite possibilities created by this "block" system; just think of the speed and security in banking transactions, the possible development of a new electoral system, a new real estate market or the health system ... every aspect of everyday life could be integrated thanks to the possibility of exchanging information in a safe and certified way.

How is this possible? The answer is very simple: ABSENCE OF INTERMEDIARIES. Technology BlockchainIn fact, since it is a decentralized public register, it does not need any "third" party to be able to validate the transaction that takes place between two participants, but it is the members themselves who certify the passing of information.

One of the first applications was carried out in the agri-food sector; "FoodChain spa" has developed an integration between innovation and technology that allows tracing the steps of the production chain of any product, to protect both consumers and producers.

As already noted, the concept of "secure and certified tracking" of information passages is the keystone for the conception of new applications, such as, for example, in the field of "cyber security"; the risk associated with the use of conventional IT protection technologies can be reduced by eliminating the need for human intervention on the network. The absence of mediators has the immediate advantage of minimize potential security issues, from hacking to corruption. Precisely this could be the biggest obstacle in the development of these new technologies: the criminal mentality immediately senses the devastating impact and negative consequences for business ... technology Blockchain undermine the corruption and intrusion capacity in exchange relationships.

Deepening those that could be applications of interest in the "world with the stars", I think it is to be appreciated the high speed and security both in the exchange of information and in the storage of "sensitive" data. There Blockchainin fact, it guarantees the transfer of information through the so-called cryptography, reducing any risk of "infiltration" and "info-braching". All that is exchanged through this technology remains valid and certified in a permanent and unalterable way, thus reducing all the costs of managing the entire administrative system. In this way, the entire logistics system of the Armed Forces could be redesigned, creating a flexible, secure and certified structure, as well as the exchange of information related to the complex C4I function, at a tactical, operational and even strategic level.

The Armed Force, which has already realized the revolutionary scope of this system is the Aeronautica Militare, which, last week, organized a workshop on the subject in order to trace the most functional path for the construction of a new logistics infrastructure (v.articolo).

Thanks to the "chain of blocks" it is now possible to conceive a new model of logistics, based on the principles of speed and security in the exchange of sensitive information, absolute priority in the military environment, where the protection of information allows you to keep the long-awaited tactical and operational superiority on the battlefield.

Speaking of logistics, one immediately realizes that through the new applications it is possible to reset the bureaucratic "length" ... the certified register created through the Blockchain can guarantee a safe and reliable Command and Control system. The infrastructure of the entire Armed Force could be implemented to make information interconnected and usable like never before.

From the logistics, then, we could move on to the world of operations. Special forces first, then conventional ones. The micro "combat cams" mounted on the helmets of the operators guarantee a "live streaming video" of the operation directly on the screens of the competent political authorities and the Armed Force summits.

This streaming of information is now possible thanks to the integration of the various systems used in the field (thermal chambers, combat cameras, night vision devices, etc.) with the radio devices that guarantee broadband data transmission and with the highest level of encryption (NATO type 1 crypto).

This is how the dream of every true military commander is realized: to live the battle, the single operation, alongside their own men, being able to make operational-strategic decisions and being able to communicate in real time to their "boots on the ground" collaborators.

All this certified and guaranteed in a permanent and unalterable way by the technology Blockchain...

To further evidence of what has been affirmed so far, an article published by the newspaper "Il Sole 24 ore" just over a week ago, entitled "LEGAL VALUE OF BLOCKCHAIN AND SMART CONTRACT: FIRST FREE ROUTE TO THE SENATE."

The technology Blockchain is it therefore a near future or already a distant past?
