Letter to Defense Online: since when Fincantieri deals with roads and bridges?

28/08/18

Dear Director, I read that according to the deputy chairman of the board Luigi Di Maio the substitute bridge of the Morandi viaduct in Genoa should be built by ... Fincantieri. But since when are they dealing with roads and bridges? Are not they a world-class player in shipbuilding? Someone should explain to the minister that he is not talking about the deck of a boat.

I could argue that this is an opportunity to enter a new business: but with what credibility? Or maybe it's a coup de theater to promote the great Italian company in the world: if so, there should be the line of giants of the made-in-Italy industry to build that blessed bridge. Maybe the minister wanted to say Military genius but ... did not find the lamp?

For privacy reasons, I say hello to myself

Dear reader, I share your perplexities but - believe me - I can not think that you take advantage of a national mourning except to do justice, even drastic.

The disaster of Genoa has had a global echo and certainly global visibility will have the epilogue with a new work ... and without many budget constraints.

Fincantieri is a company public that it is expanding (some say at the expense of other public companies) and "differentiating". The company has consistently had extraordinary support from every previous government. As - I repeat - "Italian public company" it is important that the new government always has this hierarchy in mind.

In case of nationalization, will Autostrade per l'Italia commission the next naval units in retaliation?
