The Link Campus University has a strong international vocation which it achieves through the close agreements with numerous foreign universities in order to promote the mobility of teachers and students. Furthermore, it aims to provide students with the preparation and skills necessary to face the challenges of the world of work, providing them with a training offer that combines traditional teaching with a broad seminar and laboratory activity.
The ethical values that the University of Link Campus University are those of coherence between knowledge and doing, of the full dedication to learning, collaboration and human solidarity among all peoples.
The evolution that the concepts of DEFENSE need Safety have had in recent years, both a national and international levelhas progressively made it necessary to develop skills that can be integrated into the university training courses relevant to the class L / DS (Defense and Security Sciences) diversified and deeper cultural knowledge.
From this need, a new three-year course will be launched in the Link Campus University's Rome and Naples offices, dedicated to DEFENSE e Safety. Last 1 February, during the course presentation conference, opened by Professor Vincenzo Scotti, current President of the University, it was shown that two training courses will be foreseen: orientation of economic and financial security and orientation of internal and external security.
Numerous laboratories will have the aim of experimenting working techniques, analysis methodologies and management practices of an operational project. We will go from the analysis of migratory flows and security profiles for the host countries to the verification of the terrorism alarm that involves the entire West.
Expected, absolute novelty, a year of practical training with practical experience.
Numerous documents, analyzes, researches and sector studies show how, at global level, there is a renewed need to strengthen public and private actors operating in the security and defense sector and, therefore, a demand for skills and professionals and experts able to support interventions that concern in a broad sense the management, in a preventive rather than repressive, of the new criminal and terrorist threats which, with renewed modalities and vigor, threaten the stability of social and institutional structures. Italy should recover a strong delay in this segment as well, and measures to strengthen this system are underway and will be further strengthened.
In fact, the defense and security sector is one of the segments with the highest growth rate as a supply of job opportunities in both the public and private sectors.
In this sense, the need to give young graduates who aspire to enter the world of work is increasingly urgent. members of the Armed Forces and Police the methodological, professional, cultural and relational skills in the fields economic management, juridical, psycho-sociological e computer technician, which will constitute the content of their daily life.
A similar objective should be pursued through one interdisciplinary training that forms professional figures capable of effectively interpreting technological, organizational and methodological change and innovation in the field of security, developing an approach problem solving able to integrate different perspectives.
In particular, the course of study, within the parameters establishing the degree course in question, reserves a considerable study in the areas of economic-managerial, technical-informatics and socio-anthropological areas, such as to increase the knowledge in the field of prevention, even more than the repression and contrast of the consolidated as well as the new types of criminal and terrorist activities, nationally and internationally.
At the same time the course responds, in cultural and professional terms, to another sensibility, ever more alive within the institutions entrusted to the management of defense and security: providing its operators with the knowledge and awareness necessary to keep the needs of the prevention, contrast and repression, on the one hand, and respect for the individual rights, from another.
The needs, as represented above, find, then, an explicit confirmation in the Legislative Decree 95 / 17 with which the redevelopment and reorganization process is started Police forces, in whose content a relevant part is dedicated precisely to the training, of a university matrix, of middle and top management, for which, until now, the rewarding of the experiential share was prevalent with respect to the multidisciplinary academic training.
The innovative charge of the process required by the aforementioned legislative provision requires both the entry and the progression of the all-round qualification of the security operator, who knows, as already illustrated, to increase the professional contribution through an integrated development and multidisciplinary of their cultural profile.
For potential visitors coming from Armed forcesin particular, the degree program would stimulate both the cultural harmonization between the middle managers from different Weapons or Bodies (of the same FA) and would facilitate future cooperation with the other national security components, in Italy and abroad, in the development of all peace operations under the aegis of the UN and NATO and those of territorial control. The objectives related to the degree course will be a noteworthy increase of the military professional through the planned interactive participation in educational activities, the exchange of experiences, the ability to clearly identify the problems before starting to solve them, the propensity towards a systematic structure of responsible and constructive verification and criticism, the tendency to the concreteness of the results, making the best use of all the available resources, the development of technical, human and conceptual capacities. The foregoing is the foundation of the professional characteristics necessary to fulfill the Armed Forces positions at managerial-managerial level.
Likewise, security operators in the private sector they need to maintain the level, as stated in a significant increase in the public sector, of professional qualification, through a deepening of skills in the field of economic and legal disciplines, particularly of international cut, to be adequate to the job offer that i player professionals in the private security sector (international agencies, multinational groups and local security operators) propose to support and integrate public coverage.
The Program Leader of the degree course is Prefect Francesco Paolo Tronca who has structured the course with the aim of training professionals able to effectively interpret change and innovation in the field of safety. The Prefect makes use of a steering committee, among whose members are Ambassador Giovanni Castellaneta and senior officers of the Armed Forces.
In conclusion, it should be emphasized that the degree course's competitive advantage is to have low barriers to entry, to be aimed at a broad target of potential users and, above all, to focus on a consolidated experience of the University in intelligence matters, defense and security.
