General Martin E. Dempsey, the head of the Joint General Staff of the US military, said he was "worried" yesterday about the effects of mass immigration to Europe.

According to a UN report, 60 millions of refugees on the planet are present today.

"Can you only imagine how many people are far from their places of origin?"

According to the general, the tragedies linked to the issue are two: first the humanitarian disaster, second the possible adhesion to extremist groups by the refugees. Currently we are moving at a pace that does not keep pace with the threat and aWe need to face it as a society, as a culture, as a civilization.

"The combination will be present for at least twenty years and must be considered adequately".

In conclusion he wanted to underline his fears also for the increase in the weight of certain political groups in reaction to the wave of immigrants in the old continent.

The question that arises spontaneously on the last point is the following: "Dear general, but with a potential candidate for the next presidential election who says he wants to raise a wall between the United States and Mexico and to deport all the illegal immigrants in the States, it is is it the case to look at 7.000 kilometers from home ...?
