Mattarella consultations: on the side of Syria, of the "allies" or simply of the Truth?

12/04/18

Among the assessments attributed to the President of the Republic in today's consultations, there seem to be a position on Syria and loyalty to NATO.

The Syrian one - let's start with clarity immediately - is a massacre that has been going on for 7 years and to which we, as Italians and in the best of cases, witnessed as helpless spectators.

The position of this magazine has always been against the current for a simple reason: during the so-called "civil war" of the 2011 Libyan deep manipulation of information emerged to justify the anglofrancese bombardments before and ... of NATO (!) Later.

The massacres and the macroscopic abuses of the Libyan rais against his people on the ground were not confirmed by us. For heaven's sake, Gaddafi was certainly not Mother Teresa of Calcutta, but hear testimony from sources in Libya: "International media say they are shooting in the city streets right now. I live here and a fly doesn't fly ...", It was disturbing.

After the Libyan raìs fell, we began to doubt and want to verify with greater determination what was being given for "sure". We have therefore contacted and met many countrymen before the Syrians: the answer has always been "I do not understand why they spread certain news about Syria. My experience of that country is the opposite of what is said ..."Those who we listened to were not exalted or individuals linked to the Syrian regime, they were officials, clerks or soldiers who lived, lived or simply passed through that country.

Syrians are very similar to us Italians: generous and capable, but Levantines. Years of conflict have tested them by skimming them. Entire generations of heroes have been more than decimated. And lives were sacrificed for their country, not "for a dictator".

Millions of families still resist after losing (at least!) A father, a brother, a son but also a mother, a sister or a daughter! The majority of these Syrians are joined by a crowd of traitors, opportunists and Badoglians who, with the worsening of the situation, have thought only of themselves.

The basic problem of Syria is that Assad is not an "animal". If it had been, the crisis would have been "resolved" in a few months. The Syrian army took a year to be directly employed to fight terrorists mostly trained, armed and transported to the country from abroad.

Assad inherited a Soviet-type security system: everyone was spying on everyone. Is it possible that the different 18 acronyms of the Syrian services have not noticed the plots that for years have prepared the ground for war? Funding was huge and maximum corruption.

Too many officials or generals who have sold out and still hold key posts are a plague that will continue. Even today, those who stay in a comfortable office to collect the merits of subordinates who sacrifice themselves, should spend a few hours at the front to understand the price of their ineptitude or bad faith.

The ways of hell are paved with good intentions: to escape UNDILUTED to the accusation of being a despot the progressive Assad, he has half a million of his countrymen on his conscience. If you have to punish you do it for the absurd management of war and the inability to see, among those around him still today, people who "the father would have shot at once" (as we have witnessed Syrian friends who listened to our perplexities).

At this point I would like to appeal to the highest representative of our nation: if you really have to evaluate different positions on that crisis, do not privilege the one suggested or "nebulous", choose the one closest to the Truth. So that the blood of too many innocents does not fall morally on Italy yet! As a Tuscan friend comments: "a thief is the one who steals but also the one who holds the sack ..."
