APX STRIKER, the last born of Beretta's home

In recent years there has been a great activity in the guns industry, the Beretta with the new APX has a weapon that completely detaches from the previous projects of the industry of Gardone Val Trompia. The widespread use of technopolymers, the positioning of the trigger trigger (to shorten reaction times) as well as other options to optimize the handle, depending on the user's needs, are just some of the innovations introduced on the new Beretta.

The APX is characterized by a square line, mainly due to the geometry of the carriage; the barrel does not come out of the castle and all the gun lines are optimized to facilitate transportation and extraction. The APX castle features nine deep grooves, to improve the grip when gunfire, perhaps when wearing gloves or wet surfaces. In the event of an emergency, one arm could also be armed with one hand, vertically supporting the top of the castle and the front right on one edge and pushing downwards.

Another important change is the striker, of the type launched, then internally. Moreover, all the mechanics are mounted on a chassis, a cradle made of bent and shaped steel sheet; so there is a separation between the body and mechanics, increasing impact resistance. Maintenance is also simplified thanks to the use of modular components.

The barrel has a length of 108 mm - compared to a total length of the 192 mm weapon - with seven right-handed lines (probably a future military version will have a slightly longer barrel to allow the installation of a silencer). A standard standard attack has been built under it Picatinny, to mount accessories such as torches and light pointer. The metallic pointing system sees the presence of a rear viewfinder and a front sight mark, easily identifiable even in low visibility conditions.

Obviously, Beretta paid great attention to the quick disassembly of the gun, in fact by activating a special lever (which is rotated downwards) it is possible to disarm the de-cooking safely. In this way you can safely disassemble the weapon without expelling the possible shot into the cane. Particular attention was also paid to the shutter system, with the adoption of a short ride. The military version has a stronger shot, as military ammunition triggers are more resistant to percussion, for safety reasons.

The safety is located on the trigger, with a high thickness, thus always transporting the weapon safely.

The charger has been made without internal hooks but using a step on the outside for locking in position with a reversible release button. In its lower part there is TPE rubber / TPE pole that improves control if you use the weapon by placing the calcium on a horizontal surface.

The 9x19mm version has the capacity of 17 bullets, while the 9x21mm and .40 S&W version holds 15.

The handle is supplied with three dorsalins, of different thickness, to be replaced according to the size of the shooter's hand.

There are no tools required for field disassembly, six main assemblies are obtained. The weight of the APX varies according to the versions and may go blank, from 780 to 800 grams. The maximum thickness of the weapon is 33 mm and the height of 142 mm.

The new Beretta gun has been tested in very difficult areas, saturated, for example, with fine dusts, in the presence of very high and very low temperatures. The results have always been up to expectations, showing great reliability, not a negligible factor for a weapon destined for both police and military use.
